VL5F SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH 2023 RD Contest
VK7ZBX SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Thanks to all the people that not only participate, but those that do all the unseen work. Great RD again although it did highlight some weakness in my station. Not as much time this year but next year look out :) 73 Richard
ZL4RO SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Band conditions not as good as last year. I had a good signal (100 watts into inverted V antenna) going to Australia,With the help of a few patient operators at your side, we exchanged numbers. Many thanks to the organiser (s) and log keeper(s). Back next year. Cheers John Graham ZL4RO......K774258 "Least we forget" I had one contact, my log came up red, BUT his didnt any reason why??
VK3LDR SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Just popped in a few times along the way to answer calls and hand out points on Saturday arvo, evening and Sunday morning. Haven't been on this contest since 2015 I think.
VK4M SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH Great band conditions all round. Very friendly participation. Participation seemed lower this year, but other contests this year have seen this also. Good run on triple points in the 1st one and a half hours in. Thanks to all.
VK3CWS SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Operated via Remote Station VK3CNE located at QF22NH.
VK7GN SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH Great to contact old friends!

VK7HW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH SSB & FM
VK7AG SINGLE-OP SSB QRP A fun weekend and good opportunity to dust off some radios. IC-705 + IC-910H for 23cm, QRP, both at 5W.
VK2YW SINGLE-OP MIXED QRP Again, a lot of fun using QRP.
VK6KQ SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH In memory of Telegraphist Adolf Heinrich Gerhard Rippen, VK6GR, one of the 645 crew of HMAS Sydney II lost on 19 Nov 1941. Thanks for the contest; I enjoyed it; I'll have HF up next year! Rig: Yaesu FT-8900R Ant: Quad band whip
VK8AW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH no mail service in rural, hence PO box.
VK3AUQ SINGLE-OP CW HIGH Only VHF contact was on 6 Mtr. Using 3 el yagi HF on 20 & 15 no go as EU contest taking up the bands. Running 100W to an 80 Mtr invertet vee with a tuner to enable all HF bands. Keying with an old home brew iambic keyer I built somewhere in early 1980's It was good to catch up with the usual suspects again.
VK4DRK SINGLE-OP MIXED LOW First time RD contest
VK6WE SINGLE-OP SSB LOW I could only dip in and out of the contest occasionally but enjoyed the sessions I had. 20 metres was more productive.
VK2WW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH I was un assisted in the contest, single OP
VK6MM SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Operated from North Yunderup
VK8NH SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Woke up early and loged these CS
VK6MIL SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Great weekend of many contacts for RD.
VK1PE SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Antenna issues, and family commitments, limited my ability to work the Contest. (But, I did produce the RD Opening Speech, again.)
VK2KQB SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Great Contest
VK7IF SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH As usual, a friendly and interesting contest. Good band conditions too.
VK4PDG SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Thank you everyone. Most enjoyable.
VK4T MULTI-OP MIXED HIGH Another RD Contest to enjoy, the friendly contest, love the exchange of names, totally different feel to all other contests. An honour to operate in the contest to commemorate the end of hostilities in the Pacific. Thanks to all who answered our calls and to the organisers who have done an awesome job.
VK2GR SINGLE-OP CW HIGH Limited operating tim available this year.
VJ3W SINGLE-OP CW HIGH Good participation. Not many used higher HF bands for contacts. I particapted in remembrance of my father, Les Young, CPO Leading Telegraphist, DSM (SK), ex ZL2KK, VK3BLY.
VK6CSW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Thanks for yet another good contest. Always lots of fun!
VK2BSE SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Thanks everyone for your patience with QRP operations!
VK2GPU SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Just jumped in to give out a few numbers this time.
VK6MJC SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH HF conditions not good, again. Thanks for organising de MIke
VK6DDX SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Better HF propagation this year but seemed to be not as many locals on VHF. Thank you to the organisers for the RD Contest and great to catch up with some familiar calls.
VK2YI SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH How about category separation HF only vs VHF/UHF and other bands?
VK2FO SINGLE-OP SSB LOW Great to see so many new amateurs participating in the contest and amazed at the number with 50 plus years on the board. well done everyone.
ZL3VZ SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH Very much enjoyed this contest. Conditions seemed very good, especially on 40m. Many thanks.
VK7KPC SINGLE-OP MIXED QRP Good fun Thankyou
VK1AAF SINGLE-OP MIXED QRP had a great time - my first contest and it really gave me a taste for it. was good to hear a few 001 and 002 (like me)OPs.
VK7KC SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Very enjoyable contest. I look forward to it each year.
ZL3KB/P SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Great weather, radio held up with no faults, couldn’t be better ER & PC Wireless set nr 48
VK4XQM SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH CONDTIONS WERE VERY STRANGE WITH INCOSISTANT SHORT TIME OPENINGS ON VARIOUS BANDS. THOSE OPERATING IN VK2 VK3, VK5 AND VK7 WOULD HAVE HAD GOOD ADVANTAGE WITH PROXIMITY TO EACH OTHER FOR THE SHORT SKIP CONTACTS THAT WERE EXPERIENCED. THOSE OPERATORS IN QUEENSLAND, WEST AUSTRALIA AND NORTHERN TERRITORY WERE AT A DISTINCT DISADVANTAGE IN MY OPINION TO MAKE CONTACTS UNDER THESE CONDITION, SUCH IS THE NATURE OF RADIO AND THE IONOSPHERE.
VK6AAK SINGLE-OP CW HIGH Very lonely contest, stuck on 20m cw.
VK3HAG SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Home Station/Single Op.
VK5BUG SINGLE-OP CW LOW I OPERATED WW2 EQUIPMENT IN THE FORM OF STC A679H RX AND A MARCONI 5G TRANSMITTER WITH A SINGLE 807 TUBE IN THE FINALS FOR AN OUTPUT POWER OF JUST 23 WATTS WHICH WAS CRYSTAL BOUND ON 7.026MHZ
VK6DEV SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH First RD Contest
VK7TW SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Fantastic to see all the 001s on the bands. Another great RD contest, thanks to all who are involved in managing it. 73, VK7TW
VK7HXT SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH 80m and 40m was on SSB on my kenwood TS440S and 2m and 70cm was on FM on my TYT MD-9600.
VK7KT SINGLE-OP SSB LOW Great contest with all operators very professional.. Looking forward to next year
ZL3AK/P SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Weather quite cold wind but radio worked well Radio ZC1 MK2
VK6HDY SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH my qth for the competition was Mareeba Qld.
VK7HH SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Another great year, thanks to the Contest Manager. Great to hear lots of 001's and 002's. 40m was very good.
VK7AN SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Portable operation QE48DR.
VK3DY SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH This was my 70th consecutive RD contest
VK6AKR SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH Very satisfying. Did some RTTY this time too.
VK7WN SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Another great RD Contest event. Always good fun. For next time must get my head-set and foot-switch set up and the comms between the PC and the radio. 73
VK4YD SINGLE-OP CW LOW FIRST TIME BACK IN THE RD CONTEST FOR MANY YEARS
VK3MCA SINGLE-OP SSB LOW enjoyed the contest
VK2EZF SINGLE-OP MIXED LOW A massive thank you to everyone involved in organising this RD. And of course to all participants also. This was my first RD and it was a real joy to make contacts in this contest. I just worked HF with a TS830S running about 80 watts out to a doublet at 8m agl and a rigged up inverted L on 160m. The highlight was making that first CW qso on 160 after 1am for 12 points. The lowlight was my TS830 finals blowing up with just 45 minutes to go. Already planning for next year - see you all then.
VK2EMU SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH THERE WERE SOME STATIONS IN THE CONTEST WHO WERE USING CALLSIGNS NOT IN THE ACMA DATABASE. SOME OF THE OPERATORS GOT UNHAPPY WHEN I REFUISED TO WORK THEM.
ZL3BHS/P SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Enjoyable day operating three WW2 stations
VK5D SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Was fun early on but later noise came up and barely heard anything.
VL3I SINGLE-OP CW QRP Enjoyed every QSO - thanks for contest. Unfortunately worked harder and used more tech to have less QSOs. Virtually nil during the triple point time. Not sure how we encourage more stations to have a go down CW end, whether keyboard or key.. 73
VK4SU SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Another great RD contest. I done my best as it's not easy contesting being almost stone deaf. For future contests I do recommend that everyone please use the International Phonetic Alphabet when calling as it make life a lot easier for people like me who are hard of hearing and would like to enjoy contesting without having to have call signs repeated due to not being understood.
VK7GWM SINGLE-OP FM HIGH First competion, sorry if Ive done things wrong Greg
VK6MK SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH Great contest. Consideration for future RD comps would be some acnowlegment of participating defence vetrans perhaps extra letter in RST eg "V 59 044" with one off extra point per contact with vet during contest would help acnowledge amatures who have served and remind participats what day is about during the day. manual count up added to calibro pehaps
VK3DL SINGLE-OP MIXED LOW Thanks very much to organisers and participants.
VK5WOW MULTI-OP MIXED HIGH We activated a WWII communications centre air-raid shelter operating about 3 metres underground in a concrete bunker. Whilst our QSOs were down, it was a privilege and honour to work from such a unique and historic location in suburban Adelaide for such an important event. Our thanks for managing another enjoyable contest.
VL5L SINGLE-OP MIXED HIGH Great conditions on the low bands overnight! Also, good to see all the usual contestants, some ZL's and few new commers this year. The RD is by far my favourite competition. Always friendly, great comradery and a poignant meaning. Whist I did not stay up for 24 hours this year, I did blocks of the contest from my newly developed remote site situated to the east of Adelaide. It was really strange operating from a PC and a headset without a radio or antenna in sight! 73 Steve VL5L / VK5SFA
VK2MT/VK8 SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH Operated portable while camped in the bush near Humpty Doo in the NT. Couldn't commit to the full 24 hours due to tourist commitments but had a lot of fun when on the air. The RF propagation from here is so different when compared to SE VK & combined with the different time zone, huge sigs from the north & late sunsets (7pm) makes for a totally different contest experience. Still good to catch-up with everyone.
VK7JGD SINGLE-OP SSB HIGH THANKS EVERYBODY ALL GOOD FUN GREAT TO SEE THE 001s.SEE YOU ALL NEXT YEAR. GARRY VK7JGD
VK4OTZ SINGLE-OP SSB QRP Super fun contest as always! I made by first ever 160m contact with VL4R (Thanks Bill! :D) My clock went out of sync around 1515 UTC by ~15mins. Two contacts were logged before I corrected this (VK4T and VK5CB). I've updated their respective times to be as accurate as possible. Big thanks to everyone operating and especially the contest organisers. See you all next year!
VK7ALH CHECKLOG SSB HIGH Changed to checklog - VK7ALH was not the call used.
